West Seattle Art Walk October 2009
Monday, February 15, 2010 - 11:43 AM
When it rains, it pours and October was no exception for us. Within an hour and a half I received two different phone calls while waiting for my plane in Las Vegas. Both were new businesses in West Seattle who had just signed on to host and support the WS Art Walk. Luckily, Sharon and I both had enough new work to be able to accommodate the businesses and managed to hang our joint show the week before we left on my birthday trip. The Art Walk was blessed with dry weather and thus had a terrific
We're back...

After a bit of a long hiatus, we're hopefully back in gear. Check back for our progress...
On light, life and kidney stones
Tuesday, October 07, 2008 - 6:07 PM
Here in the Pacific Northwest, we haven't exactly had our fair share of light this year- as a matter of fact, it pretty much feels like we were cheated out of any Summer - shot right past it and into the Fall. On the other hand, Fall is our favorite season and we have many fond memories of woodland hikes in Montana, Parisian cafes and just sitting in our living room enjoying the afternoon sun playing off of our golden walls. The key, I think, is to remember to slow down every once in a while
Musings on creativity
Saturday, September 20, 2008 - 11:29 AM
Seen on  marquee recently..."Everyone is gifted, some just open theirs sooner then others." This pretty much sums up my feelings. Everyone has some particular creative streak in them - some are great cooks, creating masterpieces out of spices, water and a little bit of this and that- many a great stone soup has been whipped up by those with culinary gifts. Likewise, others artistry lie in languages, or mathematics (certainly not mine though) or the sciences. Why is it that we tend to
My How Time Passes Quickly...
Thursday, September 18, 2008 - 8:02 PM
Seems like just a few weeks ago I was frantically finishing works to support two shows at once. What was supposed to be a show in August and a show in September suddenly became two shows in the same month! With a bit of extra push I was able to manage it and am pretty pleased with the results. I'm off in a new direction and people seem to relate to it well - the proof is in the pudding or in this case, the sales.
Moving my second show forward gave Sharon the opportunity to take my September
All in a day's work
Thursday, August 07, 2008 - 8:27 PM
Thank goodness for longer daylight hours at this time of year - otherwise, how would we get all the extra stuff we want to do done? After a "usual day" at the day job, I have spent the evening fine-tuning things for the Ballard show which I will hang tomorrow afternoon. Sharon has had what she feels is a productive day in the studio and is working towards completing enough pieces for her turn in Ballard in September. Tomorrow afternoon I'll hang the show - hoping that there is enough work to
Launching Day
Sunday, August 03, 2008 - 4:33 PM
After many days and nights out in the studio I finally reached the point of hanging my first show. C&P Coffee Company in West Seattle is the first location and my work will be up through the month of August for the Art Walk. As luck (or fate) would have it - it just so happens that my second show, originally scheduled for the Ballard Art Walk in September, has been moved to August. Luckily, I've been pretty excited about some new direction in my work thanks to Sharon for teaching me about
