Thank goodness for longer daylight hours at this time of year - otherwise, how would we get all the extra stuff we want to do done? After a "usual day" at the day job, I have spent the evening fine-tuning things for the Ballard show which I will hang tomorrow afternoon. Sharon has had what she feels is a productive day in the studio and is working towards completing enough pieces for her turn in Ballard in September. Tomorrow afternoon I'll hang the show - hoping that there is enough work to fill the space and then Saturday night I'll nervously participate in my first official art walk. It is sort of like facing a firing squad - who knows whether or not people will like my work? So many details, so much planning in advance when all we really would like to be doing is enjoying our relatively short summer season here in Seattle. It is nice to sit out on the back deck and eat dinner while enjoying the sunshine, the birds chirping, the light rustle of the breeze as it blows through the bamboo forest and yes, even the "caw" of our resident family of my favorites - the crows. - TB
